Philippines!! By Sara

Okay, so it's day three on our trip back to the Philippines, it's been amazing. I can't believe we're finally back here! The trip took almost all day, it was different because we had so many little kids with us this time.

When we finally got to the orphanage everyone was super excited. We went up to the basketball court, and wrestled and played basketball. Cat ran up, gave me a huge hug, and then disappeared for a while. There are so many new faces, and so many of the other kids are gone. I don't know where some of them went. But there are kids there to replace the ones who got adopted and who went home.

I was so happy to see the kids that I knew again, and I was glad to meet the new kids who showed up in the five months that we were gone.

I said "Hi" to this little kid for you Ate Chris. he was excited to hear your name, he says "Hi" back.

We have been having a lot of parties. I think there is going to be one every day until Christmas. The kids seem to be enjoying it, and they're all a lot of fun.

I'm going to write again soon, I'm going to have to take more pictures first, though. :D

Depraved Indifference

God has really been working on our family since my and Sara's trip to the Philippines.
In his infinite wisdom, God has placed the burden of the fatherless on our hearts.
He is stretching us, pushing us, and pulling us out of our comfort zone....

This video puts pictures and words to our feelings better than I ever could.

I ask that you would join us as we pray for those who have no voice.

That he could use us to let them know that they are not alone, they are not forgotten, they have a God, that he loves them... and so do we!

While Erica is away day 1

Erica and Sara left this morning for the Philippines for their 8 day mission trip.  With the rest of the crew back home in Okinawa, our adventure has just begun.  Jackson and I are going to take advantage of the opportunity to have a fun filled father and son week.  Today went well up until dinner time.  Apparently, Georgia gave a pinky promise to mommy that she would be good.  After a small fight with Luke, she was so disappointed in herself for breaking her promise to mommy, that she put her self in her room and cried until she ran out of guilt.  We finished up the day with some Ham McChorn for dinner, a trip to the library and then off to the gym for a chance to watch Jackson in Karate for a few minutes.  Tomorrow Jackson and I will go to the Forrest Adventure and then have some lunch at the golf club so we can hit the driving range in preparation for our golf outing on Thursday.  We will pray for Erica and Sara tonight as we know they are in a hard place doing God's work.

Where's Wade?

Wade has been in Fuji for the past month on an Artillery Relo Shoot.
I love this picture he sent of himself, taken during the daily negotiations meeting with the Japanese government/ military... especially because I can just imagine how they might react to some of his
"Major Nordberg" comments.
He managed to fit in a trip to Tokyo Disney and is going to climb Mt Fuji!!
I know he has enjoyed his time there, but we have really missed him, and cannot wait to have him home again!!
Love to see him at work... He's so handsome, isn't he?!
