My Girls weekend in Tennessee was wonderful; I thank God for each one of these amazing women every day! As you can see by my eyes in the picture...sleep is over-rated when you only have 3 days with your Gs! Love you Girls!!

For the kids, there was nothing better than waking up to snow falling, until...
school got cancelled and they learned they were having their First Snow Day!!!
They all had a great time, but I think Wade may have had the most fun of all!

This is what you find when you tell your 2 year old that she can pracitice cutting with scissors and then turn to check your e-mail. Luckily, her hair was half up so the part she cut makes her look like she has one happening sideburn, but can be hidden when her hair is down!!!

Ok, So this is not a funny blog...

To all those people I told I would never have a blog...I am eating my words today! (technically yesterday, when I fired this puppy up!)

I have decided to start a blog to try and keep friends and family close and "in" on what is going on with us in case we get orders overseas.
So I get online and work my way through, what others have said to be an easy process, when my mind started working...I don't want a blog, do I? All the blogs I read are so funny and full of wisdom, great tips, and meaning, and I have none of that to offer. Don't get me wrong, I like to think I am witty and funny, and some of my friends even agree, but now I am thinking they just say that because they are sweet Christian women who are trying to build me up. I thinking that if I start to blog I'll lose sleep at night trying to think of funny things to write about, and I might even have to get dressed up every day in case something needs to be photographed for said blog, and I happen to be in that photograph... and how in the world will I look my best when I haven't slept all night because I was thinking of witty things to say!? Not to mention getting all the kids ready for their days...that would now have to be funny and full of meaning!!

So this morning I started to fret about it again and thought that maybe I would throw out this whole blog idea after all ... My family and friends would be fine not knowing what happens to us in Japan everyday...and we can always send e-mail updates, right?

Then I read my morning devotional...(which is in my bathroom so I can read it without being disturbed (don't judge, I do what works in this house where kids outnumber adults 2 to 1))

and this is what it said:

January 20

BY DEMANDING THAT WE SEEK HIS GLORY ALONE, GOD IS CALLING US TO OVERCOME THE NATURAL TEMPTATION TO SEEK OUR OWN.

Ahem, that's what I meant to say all along... It is not about me at all!!
I don't have to be funny, or witty, or anything for that matter. All I have to do is to be a follower of Christ and live my life accordingly.... doing all things that bring HIM glory!

So to you I say, this in NOT a funny blog, and may not be full of tips and wisdom. It's just us, living our lives, and growing our hearts for him and in him.
But, if the kids happen to do something funny in VA, or CA, or Japan, I'll throw it in... they do funny much better than I do anyway!

Our Okinawa Journey

After discussing it at great length, Wade and I have decided that we are going to take a leap of faith and request Okinawa, Japan as our next duty station. We think it is the answer to most of our prayers, and I am feeling so thankful that God has been faithful in answering those prayers and putting us at complete peace with our decision. Except for the distance it will put between us and our family and friends, we are getting very excited to begin a new journey!
Please continue to keep us in prayer because now comes the hard part...waiting for official orders!!
